He grabs Avalon's arms to pull the choking pressure away from his neck and bends sharply forward, trying to throw his attacker over his head and back to the ground. He won't be making the mistake of pausing to call for help this time. No: this time he's ready to follow the throw up with whatever additional force he needs to make sure Avalon won't be able to come after him again.
